Advocacy Resources
During the 2025 Maryland Legislative Session, a variety of budget proposals are under consideration, many of which have an impact on the people we support and communities across Maryland.
Service Coordination, Inc., (SCI) Team Members have expressed concern over potential budget cuts. We wanted to share an update on how you can volunteer to take action as a private citizen and are providing below links to information which has been shared publicly.
- DDA Budget Fact Sheet (prepared by MACS) – A detailed analysis of the proposed cuts and talking points.
- SCI Written Testimony – Prepared remarks for upcoming budget hearings that you can review as a helpful reference.
WHO WE’RE WORKING WITH
As a proud member of the Maryland Association of Community Service (MACS) Providers, SCI is actively working alongside our partners in the Developmental Disabilities (DD) Coalition to advocate for the restoration of critical Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) funding in Governor Moore’s proposed FY 26 budget.
The DD Coalition includes:
- MACS (Maryland Association of Community Services) – Represents providers across the state advocating for disability services.
- The Arc Maryland – Supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
- People on the Go (POG) Maryland – A self-advocacy group led by individuals with disabilities.
- Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) – Protects and advocates for the rights of people with disabilities.
- Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council – Advances policies and practices to enhance the inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
