Continuing Our Recognition of National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

In continuing our recognition of National Developmental Disabilities Month, we feature Kathy SCI’s Supervising Service Coordinator. Kathy has made several presentations and panel discussions about our Transitioning Youth Program process and Maryland’s Developmental Disability Administration’s service system to the Howard County Citizens Advisory Committee for the Board of Education and Howard County Transitioning Youth events.

“Community outreach and education are so important. Helping to educate the community and support knowledge and awareness of people with disabilities is part of our responsibility as advocates,” said Kathy, SCI’s Supervising Service Coordinator. “Sharing this information also helps individuals with disabilities and their families understand service options and processes to facilitate a smoother transition into services.”
