Accessible Play for All

Play is an essential part of learning creativity and social skills. For 7-year-old Finn, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, play was “frustrating” at his school. There weren’t options for children with disabilities, limiting how he could play.

We recognize the frustration the people we support often feel as they navigate their everyday lives. We champion ways for them to meet and exceed their daily needs and wants.

Finn’s grandmother also championed for her grandson, as the president for the president of the Autism Family Network she coordinated a meeting that led to plans for a more inclusive playground at his Elementary school.

Now Finn is included with the other children and looks forward to playing since wheelchair-accessible areas, wheelchair-friendly merry-go-rounds and more have been added to the playground.

Read Finn’s story to learn more about how to understand how to use adaptive equipment for play.
