Developmental Disabilities Day!
Yesterday, SCI was delighted to participate in the annual Developmental Disabilities Day at the Legislature hosted by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Coalition. Team Members Kelby Brick, Tenneille Aleshire, Jamie Stoner, Rachel Harbin, and Board Member Josh Delclos collaborated with advocates and heard remarks from Governor Wes Moore, Secretary Carol Beatty, Secretary Laura Herrera Scott, and several other State leaders and Legislative champions while supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and service providers.
Team SCI also had an opportunity to meet with legislators and attend hearings in support of adequate rates for community providers and access for all, alongside dedicated state advocate organizations.
