Evelyn, the long-reigning matriarch of her family, loves to share her wisdom and stories! At 96 years young, she has many stories to tell. A mother to seven children and grandmother to many, she considers her family one of the greatest accomplishments of her life. Keeping the family together and putting family first are her guiding principles. Additionally, she prides herself on living a very healthy lifestyle. Evelyn says a spoon full of cod liver oil a day keeps the doctor away!
At this time, she began working with Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI) and her Supports Planner, Zenab. Zenab built a rapport very quickly and shares that she loves listening to Evelyn’s stories: “her spirit and determination are an inspiration!” Through the person-centered process, Zenab was able to help Evelyn identify her needs and what would help maintain her deeply cherished independence. Her home needed some handicapped acceptable equipment; Zenab was successfully able to help her obtain that. In addition, Zenab helped her obtain in home supports, and medical equipment.
Evelyn continues to be active, alert and a ball of joy. She gives all glory to God and thanks him daily for all the many blessing he continues to bless her with. She is currently looking forward to the family reunion they have every August.
