At Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI), we believe in the power of possibility and every person’s right to make choices that reflect their unique goals, needs, and capabilities.

We listen, plan, and advocate for each person, meeting them where they are and ensuring guidance is always within reach. Through trusted relationships and personalized care, we help people create paths to greater independence, dignity, and opportunity.

Imagine a grandmother, empowered to live independently with the right support. A young man, proud in his new job, building the future he’s always dreamed of. Parents who once felt isolated and overwhelmed, now seeing hope—and possibility—for their child’s future.

From urban communities to the rural countryside, we walk alongside those we support—building bridges, breaking down barriers, creating opportunities, and helping them reach their goals.

Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI) was officially established as an independent nonprofit organization in 2006 to meet the growing need for personalized, community-based case management services across Maryland.

Our roots trace back to an initiative launched by The Arc of Frederick County in 1982, one of the nation’s first programs to offer service coordination for people with disabilities. Grounded in the belief that individuals deserve trusted navigators to help them access and tailor services to their unique needs, SCI was created to expand and carry that mission forward.

Today, SCI is the largest case management services provider in Maryland, supporting more than 16,000 people and employing more than 1,000 Team Members. We support people of all ages and diverse backgrounds, spanning many languages and resource needs.

Our mobile, community-based team meets people where they are—at home, in their neighborhoods, or virtually—ensuring support is always within reach. We remain deeply committed to empowering choice, connecting people with the resources they need, and strengthening the communities we serve.

Relationships

Relationships

We operate with an understanding that it is primarily through effective relationships that we are able to achieve positive change on the individual and systems levels.
