We’ve gathered some helpful information for the people we support, many of whom are affected by the federal government shutdown. Because of the shutdown, people who receive SNAP benefits (money for groceries on an EBT card) may not get their usual funds starting November 1.
On Friday, October 31, 2025, Governor Wes Moore declared a State of Emergency and announced $10 million in emergency funding to help food assistance partners support Marylanders who are impacted by this suspension of SNAP benefits.
Our case managers will continue working closely with the people we support to find the best resources for their needs. These resources were compiled by our community-based case managers throughout Maryland. For the most current details, especially about things like parking, long lines, and accessibility for people who are older or use assistive devices, please contact the organizations directly.

- Finding a Local Food Pantry or Food Bank: Access the Maryland Department of Human Services website to find the nearest The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) provider or enter your zip code at the Maryland Food Bank, Capital Area Food Bank, and 211 Maryland website to locate the nearest food pantry or food bank.
