At Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI), we believe advocacy is not just part of what we do—it is who we are.

A trio of Middle Eastern women embrace and laugh together while seated on a couch in a living room. The left woman is elderly and wearing a beige outfit, the center woman has Downs syndrome and is wearing a blue outfit, and the right woman is middle-aged and wearing a black outfit.

As a community-based non profit organization, we work alongside people with disabilities, families, and partners to build more inclusive, accessible communities.

Whether you are a self-advocate, family member, professional, or ally, your voice matters. Learn more about SCI’s nonpartisan work in advocating for policies, funding, and systems that empower people to live with dignity and purpose.

We proudly support and participate in nonpartisan advocacy efforts through:

  • Self-advocate partnerships
  • Coalition engagement and leadership
  • Public policy advocacy at the local, state and federal levels
  • Community education and awareness efforts

We are proud to work closely with these organizations to advance issues important to the communities we support.

  • Coordination of Community Services (CCS) Community of Practice (COP) – A Maryland statewide group of diverse CCS provider organizations, who collaborate to strengthen CCS services quality and access, and related policies and practice. SCI convenes and chairs the CCS COP.
  • Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) – Legal advocacy and protection for individuals with disabilities.
  • MACS (Maryland Association of Community Services) – Statewide provider network advocating for disability services. SCI is a member organization of MACS.
  • Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council – Promotes innovative policies for full inclusion in all aspects of life.
  • People on the Go (POG) Maryland – A self-advocacy group led by people with disabilities.
  • The Arc Maryland – Advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
