Training Opportunity for Self- Advocates


Steps Toward Independence & Responsibility

People On the Go of Maryland in partnership with the Developmental Disabilities Administration is seeking individuals with disabilities who want to learn about effective ways to advocate for themselves and others.

The goal of Project STIR is to:

  • Communicate effectively
  • Problem solve
  • Understanding rights and responsibilities
  • How to get involved within your community
  • How to work effectively in advocacy groups

What to Expect:

  • 2 days of training
  • Lunch will be provided both days
  • Transportation support if needed

When:  April 12 and 13 – 10am – 3pm – CENTRAL REGION
Where:  7000 Tudsbury Road, Windsor Mills, MD 21244

When:  April 17 and 18 – 10am – 3pm – SOUTHERN REGION
Where: TBD

When:   April 26 and 27 – 10am – 3pm – EASTERN REGION
Where: TBD
