Advocating with Art

As we close out Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month, we are celebrating the passionate and talented individuals we serve and their loved ones. In many ways, art can serve as a peaceful and healing hobby for individuals at all different levels of artistic ability. Serving as an important creative outlet, it can be beneficial to assist in self-expression and alleviating anxiety. Participating in all forms of art can also be beneficial when working to further your imagination and even develop greater abstract thinking.  Art comes in many forms such as sculptures, pottery, paintings, performances, and more. Visual arts can be impactful in cognition improvement, visual and spatial discrepancies, fine motor skills, and coping.

This week, we wish to celebrate and share art from all over. Anything you have put your talent and time into, we want to share it with the world and admire your talent! Whether you’re an out-of-the box artist or you like to stick to sharp techniques, we want to see your creations!

We are asking you to share your creations with us all week long so we can celebrate YOU! From pottery to paintings, we want to see it all - To share with us, post publicly to Facebook and tag us in your creation while also using the hashtag #AdvocatingWithArtSCI in your caption so we know we have permission to share!
