SCI Organizational Changes

Good Afternoon,

I hope that everyone is having a great start to their summer! The ever-changing systems in which we work prompts us to proactively evaluate our organizational structure to ensure we remain dynamic, agile, and continue to support thousands of people who have disabilities, older adults, veterans, and others with special needs through high quality case management services. In addition, John Whittle, SCI Associate Executive Director, will be retiring this summer, which presents additional opportunities to evaluate organizational structure. To this end, I wanted to make you aware of some staffing changes we are making at Service Coordination to further improve the quality of our services, collaboration with our partners, and ability to continue to support system change.

Associate DDA Program Director

SCI is introducing a new role to support the DDA Targeted Case Management (TCM) program. The Associate DDA Program Director will lead the internal state-wide oversight of the DDA TCM program, working across all regions to support consistency in quality and practice, providing direct supervision to the CCS Regional Directors. Allan Sheahen, SCI Program Director,  will continue to oversee all of our programs with this additional support affording the opportunity for greater external involvement.

Tenneille Aleshire has been chosen as the Associate DDA Program Director and will be starting this role on 7/16/18.  Tenneille began her career as a coordinator with Service Coordination over 13 years ago, and has since worked in several programmatic positions.  She is a graduate of Salisbury State University.  Tenneille participated in the University of Delaware’s National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities, has chaired the Washington County Local Management Board and regularly attends the DDA Transition Advisory Committee meetings. Tenneille’s contact information is:   taleshire@sc-inc.org

Operations Director

SCI is re-introducing the role of Operations Director.  The Operations Director will work across various non-program departments to ensure all team members are well-supported to fulfill our mission of providing exceptional case management services.  This includes direct oversight of the IT, HR, Communications, Information Management System, and Quality Departments.  Please join me in congratulating Mindy Propst, who started in this role 6/25/2018.  Mindy joined Service Coordination over 7 years ago as the Western Region Director, and has provided support to programs as the Quality Systems Director since 2015.  She is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, as well as Leadership Washington County and the University of Delaware’s National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities, and brings a critical person-centered programmatic eye to SCI’s support departments including information management systems. Mindy’s contact information is:   mpropst@sc-inc.org

Western Region Director

With Tenneille’s promotion to Associate DDA Program Director, we have completed hiring for her replacement of the Western Region Director. It is with great pleasure that I announce Amy Buhrman has been chosen as the Western Region DDA Program Director who will begin 7/23/18.  Amy began her career as a coordinator with Service Coordination over 18 years ago, and has since worked in several programmatic positions including Supervisor and Western Region Program Manager. Amy is currently the Quality Systems Administrator leading work on the SC Database, quality initiatives/projects and the transition to LTSS. Amy is the facilitator for SCI LTSS Implementation Group and an active member of several SCI committees and workgroups. Amy’s contact information is:   abuhrman@sc-inc.org

In addition, we are further developing our current customer satisfaction survey that will be used ongoing to evaluate our services and provide a consistent mechanism for feedback. I will be sending a follow-up announcement prior to this being implemented which we anticipate to be by the end of July. Your feedback is critical for the development of our services and very much appreciated. We are pleased and proud to know that the FY18 SCI customer satisfaction survey indicates that 92.7% of people we support agree or strongly agree that their SCI Service Coordinator makes a positive difference in their life. With the above and other changes SCI is committed to ongoing quality improvement.

Thank you for your continued partnership. I hope that you have a great summer and look forward to seeing you soon.

John
